the christmas story from around the world - i

During the Christmas holiday, the Washington, DC LDS Temple celebrates Christmas with a Festival of Lights turning the 55 acres of grounds into a winter wonderland of beauty, nightly concerts, and a stunning display showcasing over 100 Nativities from around the world. Best of all it's free and open to the public. The perfect way to ring in the Christmas season and focus on what's most important.

Last Sunday I enjoyed a great concert, and the Nativity display from around the world. I don't remember where a lot of these came from, but they're so pretty and different I had to share.

And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Cæsar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed. (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.) And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city.

And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judæa, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:) To be taxed with Mary his aespoused wife, being great with child.

Love this with a capital "L" :) I have so many memories of the D.C. Temple lighting/Festival of Lights from my work. So glad you got to go, thanks for the trip down memory lane!
