two years ago yesterday

I came home two years ago yesterday from Afghanistan.

Today I am so thankful for so much; my heart is so full. It's amazing to think I was there. It's amazing to think I am now here and I sometimes forget that we are still there. I have good friends there now and it's sobering to hear from them and read the news about what happens in their part of the world.

All I can say, is that I do pray for peace, for hearts to be softened, and for political maneuverings to not be so selfish. I think ahead to what the possibilities are and I'm breathless with anticipation for the promised peace and good will toward all men.

The Christmas season is such a good time to remember that He did indeed come here among us.  That one night on Earth, a long time ago, angels sang praises, shepherds rushed to greet Him, and a new little family was started with the promise of peace for all mankind.

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. -Isaiah 9:6

So very happy you made it home safely from such a life-changing experience. Peace on earth, goodwill towards all men.
